News: CMS releases ICD-10 claim denial numbers


Just over 10 percent of claims filed since the implementation of ICD-10 on Oct. 1 have been denied, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services reported on Oct. 29.

The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Health System revealed on July 17 that they were victims of a large cybersecurity breach. As many as 4.5 million patients have been reportedly exposed.

President Obama announced his intent to nominate the Director of the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), Dr. Karen DeSalvo, to the position of Assistant Secretary to the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS).
